Tadiran Batteries wins $30m. deal

The deal follows a previous order by Neptune for PulsePlus valued at $5m.
Tadiran Batteries Ltd. said Wednesday it won a four-year contract worth $30 million to supply lithium batteries to Neptune Technology Group Inc., a US-based manufacturer of Automatic Meter Reading devices for water utilities. Tadiran, a subsidiary of Saft Group SA, said it would supply Neptune with the PulsesPlusTM battery system consisting of Tadiran's lithium thionyl chloride batteries combined with its new Hybrid Layer Capacitor technology. The battery can provide 10 to 20 years of operating life under extreme conditions. The deal follows a previous order by Neptune for PulsePlus valued at $5m.
