Jordan's king dissolves gov't ahead of elections
Jordan's King Abdullah II dissolved parliament in preparation for holding legislative elections later this year, according to a royal decree issued Sunday. Abdullah's decree said that the 110-seat Chamber of Deputies will go into recess as of Monday. Parliament's four-year term ended last March. Abdullah, the ultimate authority in Jordan, also called for holding parliamentary elections, but did not specify when, according to the decree.
