PA delegation to urge Syria to ban counter-Annapolis conference

A high-level Palestinian delegation is expected to head to Damascus in the next few days to try and persuade Syrian leaders not to let Hamas hold a conference to counter the Annapolis peace parley, Israel Radio reported Sunday. The aim of the conference, set to be attended by representatives of Palestinian factions and other Arab officials, is to delegitimize the US-sponsored meeting and urge Arab states not to negotiate with Israel. According to reports in the Arab media, the organizers of the conference have appealed for Iranian funding.
