Dan Alterman finished in a respectable 35th place at the World Triathlon Championship in Lausanne, Switzerland, on Monday.
Alterman swan 1.5 kilometers, cycled 40 kilometers and ran 10km in 1 hour 56 minutes 27 seconds, finishing 4:55 behind British winner Tim Don.
Dan's brother Ran Alterman also competed in the race, finishing 9:53 behind his brother (2:06:20), in 67th place out of 86 athletes that began the race.
The Altermans began the race poorly and lost important ground in their weakest discipline, swimming. Dan was 53rd after a 18:05 result in the the swimming, while Ran was 66th (18:13).
Dan's result in the bike race was 1:02:39, while Ran's was 1:10:42. In the 10km run, Dan finished in 34:17 and Ran in 35:55.
The Alterman brothers are attempting to qualify for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
