Games We Play: Goldstein and Berger edges IDT Global

In the closest game yet of the Yosef Goodman AFI high school League, Goldstein and Berger Ltd. edged out IDT Global Services 27-26 last week to record its first win of the season. IDT had a chance to tie the game late in the second half but after scoring a touchdown, the yellows couldn't come up with the crucial extra-point conversion. Goldstein & Berger 27, IDT Global Services 26 Quarterback Eran Markose hooked up with wide receiver Idan Zaviv for two touchdowns, while WR Dan Schnel caught two deep bombs for scores. Derech Hateva 68, 8th Ltd. 6 Derech Hateva looked strong after a bye week, and handed 8th Ltd. a convincing defeat. Derech Hateva QB Gavi Teitz threw six touchdown passes, four to Rafi Jaffe, one to Yonatan Halberstat, and another to Aaron Berger. On defense, Yus "the bus" Friedman had three interceptions, running one back for a TD. Wide receiver Uriel Ross caught four touchdown passes, while Jake Hauser scored another pair. On defense, interceptions were caught by Yoel Ross and Elimeir Maltz. Women's tournament set for after Pessah Women's American Football in Israel will have a spring tournament beginning April 30. Teams will play in at least two first-round tournament games, followed by playoffs. The tournament will last up to five weeks.
