Ice Skating: Katz wraps up European figure skating championships in 13th

Israeli teenager Tamar Katz finished in a respectable 13th position in the ladies' competition at the European Figure Skating Championships on Saturday evening after a solid performance in the short and free programs over the weekend. The 18-year-old Katz, who was born in Dallas, Texas, recorded a total of 126.09 points, placing 11th in the short program and 13th in the free. Alexandra and Roman Zaretski recorded a new career high by finishing 11th in the ice dance. The Israeli brother and sister duo, who finished 22nd at the 2006 Winter Olympics, came in 15th at last year's European championships and are continuing to improve this season. The Zaretskis accumulated 148.05 points in the compulsory, original and free dance. Sergai Kotov finished 24th out of 32 in the men's competition after collecting only 124.90 points in the short and free programs.
