Shahar Pe’er will look to string together her first winning streak in more than four months when she faces Dominika Cibulkova in the second round of the Den Bosch Open in the Netherlands on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old Israeli, ranked No. 49 in the world, beat Akgul Amanmuradova of Uzbekistan 6- 2, 6-4 on Monday, but will need to record her biggest win of the year to finally progress past a second round, with world No. 12 Cibulkova coming off an impressive performance at Roland Garros, beating world No. 1 Victoria Azarekna on her way to the quarterfinals.
Dudi Sela (106), who has dropped out of the world’s top 100 for the first time since last October, will also be in action in the Wimbledon tune-up grass court event in Den Bosch on Tuesday, with the Israel No. 1 to face Poland’s Lukasz Kubot (48) in the first round of the men’s tournament.
