If it is inspiration you are looking for from your sporting heroes, then look no further than Dror Cohen. Sixteen years after a car accident which left him paralyzed from the waist down, the 39-year-old is heading to Beijing this summer to defend his Paralympic sonar class sailing gold medal.
Cohen is a man of many talents. He was due to compete in the Paris to Dakar Rally for the second time in January in a custom-built 400-horsepower Chevy Silverado vehicle before the race was cancelled due to terrorism threats.
In 2002 he began the rally but had to drop out after 11 days due to engine malfunction. In 1995 he was one of the founders of the "Challenge" Association which promotes outdoor sports for special needs and disabled people.
