A food festival will be held against the backdrop of the Kinneret and Golan.

The picturesque scenery of the Kinneret and Golan areas will provide the backdrop for a food festival taking place over the next three weekends.
With events being held throughout the region, including at some of its finest restaurants and wineries, the Taste of the Golan-Taste of the Kinneret festival will give visitors from around the country a chance to experience the gastronomic offerings that distinguish these areas.
The delicacies include fish from the Kinneret and wine from the Golan. But visitors won't be limited to merely enjoying the cuisine: they are also invited to learn about different aspects of preparing food at a series of workshops. Among the workshops is a nighttime demonstration of how to catch fish in the Kinneret and a talk on how best to prepare meat.
As well as its main focus on the food of the Golan and the Kinneret, the festival also aims to give visitors an appreciation of these beautiful areas. Experienced guides will show tourists some of the most scenic views, and farmers will offer tours of their fields. For those interested in the historical significance of the region, tours of the pioneers' old stomping grounds will be available, and there is also the option of jeep rides, although these are not for the faint-hearted.
French bistro Alumna, located in Tarshicha in the western Galilee, will be hosting an original culinary event throughout the month of December. Three leading chefs from the center of the country (Meir Adoni from Katit, Eyal Lavie from Pastis and Matan Abrahams from Odeon) will each be joining the Alumna team of chefs for one night only, bringing their own unique styles and flavors. Through this event diners from or touring in the north will be given the opportunity to get aquainted with the culinary trends of their counterparts in the center of the country.
