The government on Sunday approved the construction of a gas-powered power plant to be constructed by the National Infrastructures Ministry in the Be'er Tuvia region. The plant, which will be capable of producing 500 megawatts when running at full capacity, is part of the government's move towards reducing its dependency on oil and coal as power sources and also its push to introduce more privately owned plants into the country's power-grid.
