Potential Jewish NFL pick chooses latkes all year long

The college wide receiver has been noticed for his winning combination of agility, athleticism and intelligence.

Daniel Braverman, the Jewish wide receiver for the Western Michigan Broncos football team, has recently caught the eye of nine different teams, Sports Illustrated reported on Thursday.
Braverman, a 22-year-old who defines himself as "more than 'Jew...ish,'" is somewhat of an anomaly in the competitive football community as a devout Jew who never forgoes weekly prayers.
The college wide receiver has been noticed for his winning combination of agility, athleticism and intelligence.
The up-and-coming football star did not grow up particularly observant, rather re encountered his Jewish identity in the face of childhood adversity.
“You know they say a Jewish person can never really forget his faith,” said the two-time recipient of Jewish Sports Review's All-America honor. “It always sticks with you. No matter how hard you try or want to forget about God, you’re always reminded of being Jewish.”
Braverman said he plans on watching the Fort Lauderdale draft with his friends and family, and as for hor dourves for his big moment, the NFL prospect opted for Latkes, "It's a great dish, why wait for Hanukkah?"
