He was named 2016’s “Artist of the Year” by Israel Radio, personally chosen by international pop star Britney Spears to be the opening act for her Summer 2017 Tel Aviv performance, and his album Light went platinum, selling over 40,000 copies.Nathan Goshen. His song “Thinking About You” from his third album was a major hit in Europe, going platinum in Holland and reaching gold status in Denmark, Sweden and Norway. At the start of his career, Goshen was named Israel Radio’s 2011“Breakthrough Act” of the year, and in 2015 it named him “Man of the Year.”Beit Gabriel amphitheater is located adjacent to Tzemah junction. This “Open Studio” will feature 43 artists spread throughout the city, and is the 14th event of its kind.A wide range of art will be featured at the display, ranging from paintings, sculptures and handcrafted jewelry to ceramics, mosaic art and photography, where some of the artwork will be available for sale.The event will take place on September 8-9 and 15-16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday. After hitting Broadway in 2005, The Stage, Tel Aviv’s premier English-language performing arts organization, brought together 22 cast and crew members from all over the country to perform the witty show in Israel.The audience will relive what it is like to be a preteen through the enactment of six adolescents competing in a spelling bee, where only one will be named the champion. Make sure that you brush up on your spelling, because this show includes audience participation.Shows will be performed on September 6, 7 and 9 at Beit Yad Lebanim, 63 Pinkas Street, Tel Aviv, at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale at www.thestagetlv.com and range from NIS 79 for soldiers and students to NIS 119 for preferred seating. (Marc Israel Sellem)In 2011, Tel Aviv introduced the Tel- O-Fun bike-sharing service, similarly used by leading cities worldwide such as New York, London and Paris. Known for their convenience, these green bikes have become a staple of the city, with stations at almost every corner, making it easy for riders to rent and return. But it seems that some people have failed to return them.It was recently reported by Hebrew media that many of these bikes have been stolen, and the police and Tel Aviv Municipality are starting to take action with special operations to prevent the thefts. According to a Channel 10 report, the municipality has reported 500 bikes stolen since March and 2,300 stolen in total in the past six years.Thefts of such community bikes are not unique to Israel. In Paris there are an average of 750 bike-share thefts per month; in New York, 40; two in London and 100 in Tel Aviv.
