By BARRY DAVISTheater(photo credit: INGIMAGE / ASAP)YouMake YouTubeKids, like their parents, increasingly get their passive entertainment kicks from the Internet, with YouTube as an ever-increasingly popular provider.Veteran dancer-choreographer Renana Raz has come up with a production that marries the Web-based visual and aural fare with live onstage action.YouMake, ReMake is a multidisciplinary creation in which the dancers feed off YouTube video clips. The show, which takes place tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. at the Suzanne Dellal Center in Tel Aviv and will be repeated at the same venue on December 19 at 11 a.m., features dancers performing against a projected backdrop of YouTube excerpts.During the show, the audience gets to see both the reaction – the “Remake” – and the original YouTube video in either order, and sometimes simultaneously.A chain of reactions and their “original” muses is created onstage. The ReMake proffered by the dancers is not just an attempt to replicate the viral video but rather a commentary that expands on the YouTube footage and presents it in a new light.The YouMake, ReMake format is also designed to keep the audience guessing about how the dancers will portray the screened storyline.For more information and tickets: www.youmakeremake.comTraditional Thai fables on fabricThe “Woven Heritage” exhibition, which opened yesterday at the Shenkar College of Engineering Design in Ramat Gan, offers the Israeli public a chance to enjoy some of the visual riches of Thai artistic tradition.Weaving is one of the most important of Thailand’s traditional crafts and still plays a major role in the country’s interior home design, while many Thais still wear clothes produced by age-old weaving practices.The exhibition presents a collection of traditionally crafted textiles, featuring icons from Thai legends, made by members of ethnic groups from around Thailand over the past century.The exhibits are based on a range of techniques, materials and motifs that reflect the social, religious, spiritual and historical aspects of their makers’ lives.Admission is free.Until December 20. Among the rock and pop headliners are Corinne Allal, Dan Toren, Brain Candies and Uzi Ramirez, and soul outfit Men of North Country.
