An Israeli professor has been appointed to the European Research Council (ERC) for the first time.

The Hebrew University of Jerusalem's Prof. Danny Dolev was one of seven new members appointed to the ERC by the European Commission to the Scientific Council on Wednesday. In the past, Dolev was the chairman of the National Committee for Information Technology and Infrastructure, among other distinguished positions.
