Three teenagers from Israel's coastal plain were detained for police investigation on Wednesday on suspicion that they destroyed a Druse flag that flew near a statue of one of the religious group's sheiks in the village of Peki'in in the Galilee.

The teenagers were arrested after a formal complaint was lodged by village residents with police who claimed to have seen the act. The three were later released by police.
