Eyal Berkovic has declined Itzik Korenfein's offer to coach Betar Jerusalem next season. The Israeli soccer legend and Betar chairman met on Tuesday, but Berkovic, who promised Korenfein he would respond to his offer within 24 hours, decided against joining Jerusalem, saying on Wednesday that he is willing to coach only the national team. Despite the financial uncertainty at the club, Korenfein is set to continue his search for the team's next coach and in the coming days is expected to meet with Uri Malmilian, one of the club's all-time greats, regarding the vacant position.
