The Quartet will continue to call for Hamas to release kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Schalit without conditions and for Israel to allow humanitarian goods necessary for re-building to enter Gaza, Quartet Representative Tony Blair said in a statement on Sunday.

“I welcome Prime Minister Netanyahu’s clear distinction between Israel’s necessity to protect its security and otherwise to allow Gaza people to get the goods and material they require for ordinary life," read the statement.

Blair continued, "We continue to call for the immediate and unconditional release of Corporal Shalit whose ongoing detention is totally unjustified."
