Clinton to meet Syrian FM to discuss Israel-Syria talks

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was scheduled to meet with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem in New York on Monday to discuss the possibility of renewing the diplomatic process between Syria and Israel, Israel Radio reported on Sunday.

Assistant Secretary of State for Near Easter Affairs Jeffrey Feltman said that Washington believes the time has come to involve Syria in the Middle East peace process.Feltman added that despite the fact that the US and Syria disagree on a number of issues, it is in Washington's interest to do everything in its power to facilitate peace between Israel and Syria.
