Defense Ministry suspends mine clearing in Majd al-Shams

The Defense Ministry on Sunday announced the suspension of mine clearing activities in the village of Majd al-Shams in the Golan Heights following two safety scares over the past two weeks.

On both occasions, there were no reports of damage or injuries, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

Civil and municipal employees will be given briefings and additional professional training to improve the safety procedures taken before work begins again at the site.
