Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon expressed his opposition to the cutting of the defense research budget during a meeting with the heads of the defense industry on Sunday evening.
Ya'alon said Israel's defense industries represented a major advantage and do not cease bringing innovation and creativity to the IDF and the economy, adding, "I believed over the year, and I still believe, that the research and development nudgets should not be touched."
The comments came as reports surfaced of impending cuts to the national defense budget.
