Dozens of suspects were charged this week with stealing metal from national infrastructure sites across southern Israel, police announced on Tuesday, following the lifting of the embargo.
No fewer than 50 indictments were served after a special task force was set up to tackle the thefts, police added.
Police say the crimes have been an ongoing menace in the south, especially in the Negev.
