EU agrees to extend all financial sanctions on Syria

BRUSSELS - European Union governments reached a political deal on Monday to extend all EU financial and economic sanctions on Syria for one year despite their failure to agree on amending an arms embargo to help the Syrian opposition, EU diplomats said.

EU governments will refrain from any arms deliveries to Syria for now, the diplomats said.
