LONDON — The British Foreign Office on Monday said it was investigating an explosion near the car of the British ambassador to Yemen.
A spokeswoman said Monday that Ambassador Timothy Torlot was not injured in the incident, which occurred in the Yemeni capital of Sana'a.
The spokeswoman said the embassy in Sana'a has been closed to the public. The Foreign Office is warning all British nationals in Yemen to "keep a low profile and remain vigilant."
Foreign Office officials are working with Yemeni authorities to determine what occurred.
