Eyal Sofer was arrested by police Wednesday morning in the suspected assassination attempt of Charlie Abutbul in September.

Sofer, belonging to the rival Karaja underground crime family, was himself the target of assassination, suspected by Abutbul, in September.

Abutbul, allegedly the head of the Netanya-based Abutbul crime family, was in his car by the Carmel Hotel in Netanya on September 7 when men on motorcycles opened fire at him.

He was not injured.
