LOS ANGELES - First lady Michelle Obama will appear on children's TV show "iCarly," -- a favorite program of her daughters -- to promote her initiative to support military families, the network behind the show said on Wednesday.

Michelle Obama chose "iCarly" because the lead character, Carly Shay, who is played by Miranda Cosgrove, is the daughter of an Air Force colonel, according to the cable network Nickelodeon.
