Former commander of the Sayeret Matkal (General Staff Reconnaissance Unit), Col. (res.) Oded Ra'or died at the age of 46 on Tuesday.

Ra'or, who retired from the IDF two years ago, was set to be laid to rest at Kibbutz Shefayim at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

Economy Minister Naftali Bennett, who served under Ra'or during his military service, said that "the Jewish people have lost a good man and a good commander today."

Bennett added that Ra'or was "a modest and dedicated person who cared for his soldiers and for everyone he met. May his memory be blessed."
