Government forming legislation needs to be amended, clarified, says Rivlin

President Reuven Rivlin said on Sunday that the wording of the legislation related to the tasking of the members of Knesset to form a government must be amended because the present wording is unclear and many interpretations have stated that the person from the largest faction should be appointment when in fact this is not the case.
In fact, according to the law, it is the party that is able to form the most stable and long lasting coalition who is tasked to from  a government, a feature of post election protocol that is often mis-characterized and construed as meaning the party with the most mandates.
