Hamas's Foriegn Minister Muhammad Awwad said Sunday that Hamas is interested in stopping the escalation in Gaza in order to prevent further Palestinian deaths. In an interview with Hamas TV, Awwad said "We want the Palestinian to live with respect and we want real stability in the area," Israel Radio reported.

A senior officials in Hamas Ismail Redwan said there is no relevance to talks of calm while as attacks continue. He added that if acts of "occupation" cease, Palestinian organization will act responsibly according to the highest interests of the Palestinian people.
