The US will not fund a Palestinian government which refuses to recognize Israel's existence and which does not respect previous agreements, US Congressman Steny Hoyer said at the annual conference of American Israel Public Affairs Committee's in Washington on Sunday.

"We [the US] will not fund a government which fails to uphold previous agreements and which refuses to recognize Israel's right to exist," Hoyer declared, referring to the Palestinian Authority.

Peace between Israel and the Palestinians cannot be imposed, it must be negotiated, he added.
