IDF clears hundreds of landmines in Golan Heights

IDF Engineering Corps cadets completed the clearance of some 500
landmines on the Golan Heights in recent days.

The clearance was partof a training exercise aimed at giving the cadets hand's on experience, as well as opening up areas that are no longer classified
as border crossings, and which may become tourism destinations, the
army said. All of the landmines were linked up and detonated at the same time, causing a massive explosion.
