The IDF opened fire upon several Palestinians seen approaching the Gaza border fence Tuesday evening. One person was killed.

IDF forces in the area suspected the cell of attempting to plant explosive devices along the border. They opened fire and killed the man. AFP reported that the man was a member of the Popular Resistance Committees, a coalition "that has claimed responsibility for a barrage of mortar fire into Israel in recent weeks."
