The IDF on Wednesday set an earlier date for the closure of the Karni border crossing in the northern Gaza Strip due to security reasons.

OC Southern Command Maj.-Gen. Tal Russo called for a new crossing which will allow goods to be transferred between Israel and Gaza.

"The amount of goods transfered to the Strip is not expected to change following the move," the IDF said in a statement.
