Israel Railways to boost service during Maccabiah

Israel Railways announced that it will double the number of train cars carrying passengers from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem on Thursday to accommodate the thousands anticipated to attend the opening ceremonies of the Maccabiah Games.

The ceremonies, which will be attended by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and President Shimon Peres, are scheduled to be held Thursday night at Teddy Stadium in the capital.

The Maccabiah Games are expected to attract over 9,000 athletes from Israel and abroad, with 20,000 spectators likely to attend the ceremonies tonight.
