The Jerusalem Municipality on Wednesday announced it will continue its annual tradition of distributing free Christmas trees to Christians celebrating the holiday in the capital.
Some 200 trees will be distributed on Monday at Jaffa Gate, between 9:00 a.m. and noon, upon presentation of a valid ID card.
Meanwhile, Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat said he will be hosting the municipality’s annual New Year’s ceremony for leaders and representatives of the religious communities on January 21, in Safra Square’s City Council Hall at 7:30 p.m. The reception is by invitation only.
