Knesset review of firefighting procedures finds grave error

A Knesset review session on Wednesday on procedures and readiness of the national firefighting teams following last winter's devastating Carmel fire found serious errors and significant oversights across the board.

The committee pointed out significant deficits in preparation, which contributed to the extent of the devastation, and also moved to announce that firefighting planes were purchased without requisite governmental consultation.
