Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee chairman Shaul Mofaz stopped a meeting of the committee Monday afternoon because he said Prime Minster Binyamin Netanyahu's spokesman was leaking inaccurate information on the proceedings.

An hour earlier, a spokesman from the Prime Minister's Office put out a statement saying that Mofaz said IDF Chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz did not report truthfully about the defense budget and expenses. Mofaz vehemently denied the statement.

According to Mofaz's spokesman, the committee chairman said that there is a problem with transparency in the budget, and coordination between the prime minister and finance minister in regards to the defense budget.
