A spokesman for Israel's public diplomacy center denied on Wednesday that the phone conversation held between Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak the previous day had focused on Egyptian criticism of Israel's policies in Jerusalem, as Cairo news sources reported.

The spokesman said that the conversation between the two leaders centered mostly on the latest efforts to jump-start the Middle East peace process and was conducted in a matter-of-fact and amiable manner.
