Representatives of the resident doctors abandoned the negotiating table with the Finance ministry on Sunday, on the grounds that the Treasury was unable to provide them with solutions.
Sunday's meeting followed on from a series of meetings last week in final attempts to try to find a solution that will prevent the residents from resigning.
The 700 residents' resignations are set to take effect on Monday night.
