Obama calls Saudi envoy over alleged Iran plot

ORLANDO, Fla. - US President Barack Obama called the Saudi ambassador to Washington over an alleged Iranian bomb plot and expressed solidarity with the kingdom, the White House said on Tuesday.
"President Obama underscored that the United States believes this plot to be a flagrant violation of US and international law, and reiterated our commitment to meet our responsibilities to ensure the security of diplomats serving in our country," the White House said in a statement.
The United States accused Iran of backing a plot to kill Adel al-Jubeir, Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the United States.
