The union of Likud and Yisrael Beytenu will strengthen the government and the State of Israel, said Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Thursday.

Speaking at a press conference announcing the planned merge, Netanyahu said a large coalition led by one united party is the best option for Israel.

Asking the public to support his new party, Netanyahu asserted that "this is the time to show strength to our enemies and unity among us."
