Palestinian Authority to stop payment for Gaza electricity

The Palestinian Authority informed the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) that they will stop the payment of electricity supplies in Gaza effective immediately, COGAT reported Thursday morning.

Israel currently supplies the Gaza Strip with about 30% of the electricity Gaza requires, totaling NIS 40 million a month, a payment that had previously been deducted from the PA taxes.
