A Palestinian from the West Bank was arrested on Monday after authorities alleged that he held an elderly woman at knifepoint in the Lower Galilee town of Kfar Tavor, Israel Radio reported.

According to the report, the man, who had entered Israel illegally, accosted the woman and held the knife against her throat. A policeman nearby heard the woman’s screams and overpowered the alleged assailant, Israel Radio said.

The woman emerged unharmed, while authorities continue to investigate.
