President Shimon Peres said Sunday that the two state solution has evolved over time into a basic tenet of
Israeli policy both "for right-leaning and left-leaning governments," according to Army Radio.
At a ceremony honoring former heads of state, Peres credited former prime minister Yitzhak Rabin with increasing support for the two state solution until it became conventional wisdom.
