Labor MK Amir Peretz is expected to announce this week whether he will seek the chairmanship of the Labor in a September 12 primary against MKs Isaac Herzog and Shelly Yacimovich.

Channel 2 reported on Saturday night that he had decided to run, but Peretz said after the report that he was not ready to make an announcement yet. Peretz will be speaking on Sunday at a rally at Labor's Jerusalem branch.

MK Eitan Cabel has announced that he would support Peretz if he decided to run.
