Police: Nazareth mayor, deputy pressured city opposition member to resign

Nazareth Mayor Shimon Gapso and his deputy, Adi Barko, acted improperly by attempting to pressure an opposition council member into quitting his post at the municipality, police said on Monday. The announcement came at the end of an investigation carried out by the Northern Branch of the National Fraud Unit and the Lahav 433 Unit. The case material has been transferred to state prosecutors from the Northern District for a decision on an indictment.
