The polls for the Labor runoff elections opened at 11 a.m. this morning, with both candidates casting ballots as the polling began. Avi Gabbay, the former environmental protection minister, and Amir Peretz, a current MK who also served as an environmental protection minister and defense minister, face off for the position as chief of the party.

When Peretz voted near his home in Sderot, he said "Tonight, when we know the results, we will begin the journey to replace Netanyahu and implement a new vision of social justice and peace."
