Raed Salah appeals against police assault conviction

Raed Salah, head of the Northern Branch of Islamic movement, launched an appeal on Tuesday against an earlier conviction of assaulting a policeman.

Salah, who was convicted at the beginning of this year and sentenced to nine months in prison for attacking an officer during a demonstration which turned violent, appeared before the Jerusalem District Court together with a number of Arab Knesset Members who had arrived to support him.
