MOSCOW - Libyan Foreign Minister Abdelati Obeidi said on Wednesday that the government is not in any discussions about Muammar Gaddafi's potential departure from power, the Interfax news agency reported.

"Gaddafi's departure is not being discussed," Obeidi said after talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, according to Interfax.

He said African Union proposals aimed at ending the conflict in Libya did not include demands for Gaddafi's departure, Interfax said.
