The United Nations General Assembly has not yet received an official request from the Palestinian Authority that the world body recognize a Palestinian state, Qatari UN envoy Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser was quoted by Army Radio as saying on Tuesday.

Nasser emphasized that the exact formulation of the request was still being discussed.

The Qatari envoy was elected president of the sixty-sixth session of the United Nations General Assembly on June 22.
