A car explosion in Hadera on Wednesday morning left three people injured.

According to Magen David Adom, one man was in critical condition and two suffered light injuries from the blast near the northern city's Police Square.

Police said the incident had a criminal background.

Authorities opened an investigation into the explosion, and cordoned off all access to the square where the event occurred.
